2005 Spotlight On...
JEN FITZGERALD
by Sheniqua Waters
Jen
Fitzgerald was born in California. While growing up she liked
to read, make things out of paper and roller skate. She wrote a story
when she was in the sixth grade, and kept a diary for a while during her
junior high and high school years. When she was twenty-one she moved to Nebraska before moving to Texas in 1999. She met her husband
who was in the Air Force while she worked as a civilian contractor. After
about seven months of dating, the couple married.
Now,
Jen is the mother of two teenaged daughters and one son. Her current
hobbies are reading, stamping, watching movies and writing. Jen admits
she has a variety of likes when it comes to reading. She enjoys reading
books with military heroes. She also likes reading Christian romance and
biographies. Some of her favorite books are Anne of Green Gables, Gone
with the Wind and The Secret Garden.
Jen
starting writing back in 2001 after searching online for reading material.
She realized she could write fiction much better than some of the things
she was reading. As a mother and wife, it is sometimes difficult to find
time to write, but she manages to do it.
She
joined NT in March 2004 after visiting a few times. She is currently the
Recording Secretary. She just started working on a novel called Joy in
the Morning about a woman who returns to her hometown and comes face to
face with her teenage love. Jen wants to submit the story to the
Silhouette Romance line. In the meantime, her short-term goal is to enter
her work into a contest - - and win.
