Summer is a wonderful time to take
a writing class. Many creative and
technical writing classes are offered both locally and on-line. The Dallas/Fort Worth area has quite a
selection of colleges and universities, which offer various writing
courses including creative writing, script writing, technical writing,
grammar, and more. Be sure to
check out the continuing education classes being offered at the local
community college too. These
classes are fun and affordable.
Don’t be surprised if you recognize a few of the instructors,
since several of our local authors are also teachers.
Another way to improve your writing
is through on-line classes.
Several of the RWA on-line chapters offer writing classes not only
during the summer, but throughout the year too. Check first with your favorite on-line
genre then expand to take in the offerings from other genres as well.
Finally, don’t forget the
contests. This is an excellent way
to get feedback from other writers in your genre. Contests are very affordable and many
are even targeted to help with beginnings, endings, important scenes, and
more. As always, Happy Writing!
